Viewable Profile Fields For Each Profile Type

If you've enabled user accounts for some, or all, profile types, it's important to know what profile fields are visible to each user when they log in to their Teachworks account and view their own profile.

Some of the fields mentioned below (e.g. Custom Profile Fields added using the Custom Profile Fields Add-On, Repertoire Tracker, Profile Attachments, etc.) may or may not be relevant, depending on your company's settings and enabled add-ons.  You can find a list of the fields each profile type can and can't view when logged in to their user account below:

Family Profiles

While viewing their profile in Teachworks, customers can view the following sections on their profile:

• Contact Details
• Additional Contacts
• Notification Settings 
• Child Students
• Attached Files (if you've enabled the Profile Attachments Add-On and given the user permission to view the files)

Customers cannot view the following sections on their own profile:

• Additional Details (which is where Custom Profile fields are located)
• Additional Info (Within the Contact Information section and Student Details section when viewing a child student)
• Invoicing
• Notes & Communications (added with the Profile Notes & Communication Logs Add-On)

The following fields aren't profile fields on Family profiles, but are viewable to family profiles with an enabled user account:

• Transactions Page (this page can be hidden from the customer)
• Package Balances Page (this page can be hidden from the customer)

The company admin, or staff with permission to manage "Account Settings," can prevent customers from viewing these pages by following the steps below:

1. Click on "Account & Settings" and then click on "Account Settings".
2. Scroll down to the "Customer Account Settings" section. 

Independent Student Profiles

While viewing their profile in Teachworks, Independent Students can view the following sections on their profile:

• Contact Information
• Student Details (excluding the "Additional Info" and "Groups" fields)
• Notification Settings
• Results Tracking (if using the Results Tracking Add-On and given permission to view)
• Repertoires (if using the Repertoire Tracker Add-On)
• Upcoming Lessons
• Recent Lessons
• Attached Files (if you've enabled the Profile Attachments Add-On and given the user permission to view the files)

Independent Students can't view the following sections on their own profile:

• Additional Details (including Custom Profile fields)
• Additional Info (Within the Student Details section)
• Groups (Within the Student Details section)
• Billing Details
• Invoicing
• Notes & Communications (added with the Profile Notes & Communication Logs Add-On)

The following fields aren't profile fields on Independent Student profiles, but are viewable to independent students with an enabled user account:

• Transactions Page (this page can be hidden from the customer)
• Package Balances Page (this page can be hidden from the customer)

Child Student Profiles

While viewing their profile in Teachworks, child students can view the following sections on their profile:

• Family Profile Name (which is hyperlinked to the Family profile, where they can view the Family's Contact Details)
• Student Details 
• Notification Settings
• Results Tracking (if using the Results Tracking Add-On and given permission to view)
• Repertoires (if using the Repertoire Tracker Add-On)
• Upcoming Lessons
• Recent Lessons
• Attached Files (if you've enabled the Profile Attachments Add-On and given the user permission to view the files)

NOTE: The visibility for child students is also applied to the Family profile that the child student is attached to.

Child Students can't view the following sections on their own profile:

• Additional Details (which is where Custom Profile fields are located)
• Billing Details
• Notes & Communications (added with the Profile Notes & Communication Logs Add-On)

Teachers

While viewing their profile in Teachworks, teachers can view the following sections on their profile:

• Contact Information
• About Section
• Additional Details (including Custom Profile Fields)
• Availability 
• Assigned Students
• Notification Settings
• User Account Status
• Shared Resources using the Shared Profile Resources Add-On
• Attached Files (if you've enabled the Profile Attachments Add-On and given the user permission to view the files)

Teachers can't view the following sections on their own profile:

• Employment Details (including the "Additional Info" field)
• Account Permissions

Staff

While viewing their profile in Teachworks, Staff can view the following sections on their profile:

• Contact Information
• About Section
• Additional Details (including Custom Profile Fields)
• Availability 
• Employment Details
• Assigned Students
• Notification Settings
• User Account Status
• Shared Resources using the Shared Profile Resources Add-On
• Attached Files (if you've enabled the Profile Attachments Add-On and given the user permission to view the files)

Staff can't view the following sections on their own profile:

• "Additional Info" section in the "Employment Details" section of their profile.
