If you've invoiced a client for too much or you want to provide a refund in the form of credit that can be applied to future invoices, you'll want to issue a credit note for the customer.
Creating a Credit Note
You can follow the steps below to create and issue a credit note:
- Click on "Billing" and then click on "Issue Credit Note".
- Select a customer and enter the credit note settings.
- You can add charges or packages to a credit note.
- Add Credit - If you are providing your client with a credit for some lessons, select the "Add Credit" option under the invoice line items. This will allow you to credit the customer's account for the amount of the lessons being credited.
- Credit Package - If you are creating a credit note for a package an want to reduce the number of hours/lessons in their package balance, select the "Credit Package" option.
If you don't need to reduce the number of hours/lessons, use the "Add Credit" option so that only the amount they owe will be reduced and their package hours will not be changed.
- If you don't want to make the credit note available to the customer immediately, click the "Save" button, otherwise click the "Approve" button.
