If you need to upload a large number of students you can use the import feature. This allows you to enter the information for each student in an Excel template and then uploading the template to create records. Before you import the file, make sure that it's saved in .xls format.
Import Students
You can follow the steps below to import students:
- Go to the Students tab and click "Import Students"
- Download the appropriate template.
- Family Students - use this template for uploading students that belong to a family.
- Independent Students - use this template to upload independent students.
- Follow the instructions below to fill out the template:
- Choose the method for processing the records. The options include:
- Create New Records
- Update Matching on First & Last Name
- Update Matching on Email Address
- Select the template file and submit the form.
If there are no validation errors, all of the records will be uploaded. If there are validation errors, only the valid records will be uploaded and the rows with errors will be indicated. You'll need to correct these rows in the template and upload them again.
Updating Records
If you have some records that have already been uploaded and you do not want to create duplicate records when you upload the corrected records, you should either
- Remove all of the correct records from the upload template
- Select one of the "Update" options so any duplicate records will be updated instead of duplicated.

Apple/Mac Users
