Teachworks supports two different methods for setting employee wages. The wage method for an employee is set on the employee's profile in the "Lesson Wage Type" field.
Employee wages can be set using one of two methods:
- Service List Wage - Hourly Rate
You can set the wage for employees at an hourly rate using the wage set in your Service List. To do this, set the wage method on the employee's profile to "Use Service List Wage".
- Employee Hourly Rate
You can set the employee's wage at an hourly rate set on their profile. To do this, set the wage method on the employee's profile to "Set Wage on Profile". You can then enter the hourly wage in the "Lesson Hourly Wage" field, which will determine the hourly wage the employee makes for all lessons.
Selecting the Employee Wage Method
To select either one of these options, follow these steps:
-
Find the employee in the Employees table and click the pencil icon to go to the "Edit" form.
-
Scroll down to the Wages section
-
In the "Lesson Wage Type" field select the method that you want to use.
-
Save the form.
NOTE: When updating an employee's wage method, the wages for existing lessons will not be updated automatically. If you wish to update these lessons to use the new wage settings, you can click on the "Update the wage for existing lessons belonging to this teacher beginning on today's date" setting under the "Employment Details" section.
