The task manager add-on allows you to assign, manage and track employee tasks.
Enabling the Add-on
- Click on "Account & Settings" and then click on "Integrations & Add-Ons".
- Use the "Search" field and enter "Task Manager".
- Click on the "Enable" link.
When enabled, a "Task" option will be added under the "Employees" tab (and will be displayed as a separate tab in teacher accounts).
Creating Tasks
You can follow the steps below to add tasks:
- Click on "Employees" and then click on "Tasks".
- Click on the "Add Task" link on the right-hand side.
- Enter a name for the task in the "Title" field.
- Select a date the task is due in the "Due Date" field.
- Select the priority of the task in the "Priority" field.
- You can add a description of the task in the "Description" field.
- Select the employees you would like to assign the task to in the "Assign To" field.
- If you want to send an email to the employees, check the "Send Email" checkbox.
- Click on "Save" to create the task or "Save & Add Another" if you'd like to create an additional task.
Updating a Task's Status
You can update the status of a task that has been assigned to employees by following the steps below:
- Click on the "Update Status" button in the row of the task you'd like to update.
- Select a status in the drop down menu, you can select between the following options:
- Assigned
- In Progress
- Completed
- Submit the form to save your changes.
Managing Tasks
The Company administrator and staff members with the required permissions can assign tasks to any employee. Employees can also create tasks for themselves.
If you would like to give a staff member permission to assign tasks to other employees, you can follow the steps below:
- Click on "Employees" and then click on "Employee List".
- Click on the "Edit" button next to the staff member's profile you are editing.
- Scroll down to the "User Access & Permissions" section (this section will only be displayed if you have enabled a user account for them).
- Set the "Tasks" permission to "Manage".
- Submit the form to save your changes.
