Your Account Settings control many of the basic features and defaults set for your account. In order to reduce your workload in the long run, you may want to spend some extra time reviewing all the settings. This article will look at the "Internal Notes Template" and "Shared Notes Template" settings in some more detail.
You can find the Internal Notes and Shared Notes Templates by following the steps below:
- Click on "Account & Settings" and then click on "Account Settings".
- Scroll down to the "Calendar & Event Settings" section.
What are Internal Notes?
Internal notes can be added to a lesson when the lesson is being completed in the Teachworks calendar. These notes are for internal use only - so they can only be viewed by the admin, staff with permission and a student’s assigned teacher with permission.
What are Shared Notes?
Shared notes can be added to a lesson when the lesson is being completed in the Teachworks calendar. These can be viewed by the company admin, staff with permission, assigned teachers with permission and customers if you’ve enabled user accounts for them.
You can also use the "Email Shared Notes" checkbox to send shared lesson notes to the student and their family. You can find more information about the different methods for viewing lesson notes here: Viewing Lesson Notes.
Internal & Shared Notes Template
The contents entered in the “Internal Notes Template” and “Shared Notes Template” fields will be pre-filled in the Internal Notes and Shared Notes fields on the Complete lesson form. You can find more information about completing lessons in this article: Completing Lessons.
If you’d like your teachers to answer specific questions after each lesson, you can use the “Internal Notes Template” to list these questions. When they complete the lesson, they can add their answers below each question.
If you’d like your teachers to follow a specific layout when compiling shared notes, you can add this information to the “Shared Notes Template”. When they complete the lesson, they can add their feedback accordingly.
