The wage method that sets how much an employee earns for non-teaching events is set on their profiles. In a situation where an employee earns a wage using one method for most of their non-teaching events but occasionally earns a different amount, such as a holiday rate, you can use the Non-Teaching Event Wage Override feature.
Enabling Wage Override
You can follow the steps below to enable wage override for non-teaching events:
- Click on "Account & Settings" and then click on "Account Settings".
- Scroll down to the "Cost & Wage Settings" section.
- Set the "Non-Teaching Wage Override" setting to "Enabled'.
- Submit the form to save your changes.
You will now see an "Override Default Wage Method" option on the "Create Non-Teaching Event" and "Edit Non-Teaching Event" forms when the "Event is for" setting is set to "Selected Employees".
Non-Teaching Event Wage Override Options
When you click on the "Override Default Wage Method" checkbox, you will be able to select from the following options:
- Work List Wage - This will set the wage using the hourly wage set in your Work List.
- Profile List Wage - This will set the wage using the hourly wage set in the "Non-Teaching Hourly Wage" field on the employee's profile.
- Custom Wage - This option will allow you to set a custom hourly wage for the non-teaching event.
Permissions
The "Override Default Wage Method" checkbox is only displayed to staff users with the "Payroll & Hours" permission set to "Manage". It will always be visible to the company administrator when the feature is enabled.
