The Assigned Students Notification Add-on allows you to send an email notification to teachers whenever a student has been assigned to them.
Enabling the Add-on
- Click on "Account & Settings" tab and click on "Integrations & Add-ons".
- Use the "Search" field on the right-hand side and enter "Assigned Student Notification".
- Click on "Enable" to activate the add-on.
Settings
Once the add-on has been enabled, you can click on "Manage" to customize the following settings within the add-on:
- Child Student Details - Use this field to customize the information included in notifications sent when assigning child students. You can select from the list of available merge tags on the right-hand side.
- Independent Student Details - Use this field to customize the information included in notifications sent when assigning independent students. You can select from the list of available merge tags on the right-hand side.
- Default Settings - When setting this option to "Enabled", the "Notify teacher of new assigned students" checkbox will be enabled on teacher and student profiles automatically. If you set this option to "Disabled", it will require you to check the "Notify teacher of new assigned students" checkbox on teacher and student profiles manually to send the notification.
NOTE: This setting is set to "Disabled" by default.
Usage
When editing a teacher or student's profile, there will now be a "Notify teacher of new assigned students" checkbox under the "Assigned Students" field on a teacher's profile and the "Teachers" field on a student's profile.
Below you can find the steps used to send a notification to teachers about a newly assigned student through teacher and student profiles:
Teacher Profile
- Click on "Employees" and then click on "Employee List".
- Click on the "Edit" button next to the teacher's profile you'd like to assign a student to.
- Scroll down to the "Assigned Students" section.
- In the "Students" field, select the student(s) you'd like to assign to the teacher.
- If the "Default Settings" option is set to "Disabled", check the "Notify teacher of new assigned students" checkbox.
- Submit the form to save your changes and send the notification.
Student Profile
- Click on "Students" and then click on "Students".
- Click on the "Edit" button next to the student's profile you'd like to assign the teacher to.
- Scroll down to the "Student Details" section.
- In the "Teachers" field, select the teacher(s) you'd like to assign to the student.
- If the "Default Settings" option is set to "Disabled", check the "Notify teacher of new assigned students" checkbox.
- Submit the form to save your changes and send the notification(s).
